The islands

There is an island for each subject: Maths Mountain, Word Woods, Science Springs, Heritage Harbour, Art Bay, Maker Cove and Tech Lagoon. Tap an island and Hummi flies there. Each island has 4 places to visit, and each place opens activities on that topic for your grade.

  • The first places are open from the start.
  • The others open as you earn stars in that subject (6, 15 and 30 stars). The island tells you how many more you need.

๐ŸŽญ Story Theatre

A story season is told one chapter a week, with pictures and read-aloud. Season 1 is Anansi and the Lost Drum of Port Royal.

  • Each new chapter opens on its week and when you have earned 8 more stars on any activities, so the class moves through the story together.
  • At the end of each chapter there is a story question. Answer it the first time for 10 coins.

โ›ต Field trips

Big pictures of real places in Jamaica: Dunn's River Falls, the Blue Mountains, Port Royal, Moore Town and a coral reef. Tap the glowing spots to learn facts, find the 5 hidden things, then answer 5 questions. The ๐Ÿ’ก Hint button shows roughly where to look. Field trips give stars, XP and coins like any activity, and teachers can assign them from the Library.

๐Ÿ“’ Collector's album

Get 2 or more stars on an activity (the first go that day) to win a collector's card: Jamaican animals, National Heroes, places, foods, famous Jamaicans and national symbols. Up to 8 cards a day come from activities, and more from the treasure chest. Cards you don't have yet come up more often. Finish a set for 30 coins. Tap a card in the album to read its fact.

๐ŸŽ Daily treasure chest

Open one chest a day on the home page for coins, and sometimes a card. Opening it on days in a row fills the 7 dots: on day 7 it is a big chest with 50 coins and a card for sure.

๐Ÿชบ Hummi's nest

Buy things for Hummi's room with coins: pictures and a clock for the wall, a sofa, plants and a fish tank for the floor, and wallpaper. There are 4 wall spots and 6 floor spots. Take out frees a spot; nothing is lost.

๐ŸŒ€ The class boss

Each week the class quest is a boss to beat together, such as Hurricane Hector or Captain Forgetful. Every star anyone in the class earns knocks off a point. When the boss is beaten, everyone in the class gets the quest coins. A new boss arrives every Monday.

Sounds

With the ๐ŸŽต music on, field trips and some missions add a quiet scene sound: waves, a waterfall, birds or bubbles under the sea. It goes quiet whenever anything is read aloud. See background music.

Teachers: pupils also make quizzes and comics for the class in the Maker Studio. You approve them first: see pupils' creations.
