A soft, quiet tune plays on the home page and in activities. Turn it off with the 🎵 button.
XVH plays a soft music-box tune, very quietly, on the home page and in most activities.
Turning it off or on
Press the 🎵 button at the top of the page. It changes to 🔇 when the music is off. XVH remembers your choice on that phone, tablet or computer.
When the music stays quiet
- It starts after your first tap or key press, because browsers don't allow sound before that.
- It goes silent whenever something is speaking: read-aloud, Hummi's mission stories and voice recordings.
- It is always off in activities where pupils need to listen carefully: spelling, phonics, listening, rhythm, reading fluency, stories, ABC Explorer, mock exams and performance tasks.
- It stops when you switch to another tab or app.
The tune is made by the browser itself, so it uses no internet data.
Teachers: if several pupils play in the same room, ask them to turn the music off, or use headphones.
